The answer most real estate professionals would respond is to list it
on the Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®) System of the Association
of Regina REALTORS® Inc (ARR).
The MLS® System is a co-operative selling System operated and promoted
by the ARR in the Regina area. Under this System, members of the ARR
co-operate to list and sell properties with other members of the ARR
subject to certain standards of quality and service to better serve
consumers. The System involves a member who has listed a property offering
a portion of the selling commission to all other cooperating brokerages
which bring an accepted offer to the seller.
Listing a property on the MLS® System immediately places information
about the property in the Association's MLS® computer database.
This database is updated each working day and is searched daily several
hundred times by member REALTORS® representing buyers looking for
a property.
Only members of the Association of Regina REALTORS® Inc. may list
a property on the Regina MLS® System database. The database typically
contains 1,000 plus residential, commercial, agricultural and resort
property listings for sale in Regina and area.
Information on newly listed properties not only appears in the Association's
on line computer System -- it is highlighted as a new listing in the
Association's bulletin which is distributed each working day to all
REALTORS® and is placed on the Internet at Canada's most popular
real estate website at www.REALTOR.ca.
REALTORS® work with an extensive network of buyers looking for properties
in the Regina area. These may include buyers looking to purchase their
first home, existing homeowners moving up, buyers who are relocating
to the Regina area, or commercial investors.
When someone has made the decision to buy a property, the ARR's MLS®
System database offers the most comprehensive database of properties
for sale on the market. Important information such as location, property
features, asking price and photographs is readily available to REALTORS®
and buyers to assist with their property search and buying decision.
The database also contains a record of thousands of property sales,
which assists REALTORS® in establishing the listing price or an
offering price for buyers.
The national MLS® System website at www.REALTOR.ca has become one
of the first places many buyers now begin to look for a property. Statistics
have shown that Regina properties rank near the top nationally of listings
downloaded by consumers from the website providing unprecedented local,
national and international exposure for sellers.
Each year approximately 3,000 properties exchange hands through the
ARR's MLS® System representing the vast majority of property transactions
in the Regina and area market. The Multiple Listing Service® System
has been operated by the Association of Regina REALTORS® Inc. for
over forty years.
