The 2012 Centennial Hall inductees are:
J.R. PEVERETT – led a group of real estate agents who came together to mitigate property speculation which occurred immediately following the Regina Cyclone of 1912. He became the first president of the Regina Real Estate Board which was formed on July 10th, ten days after the Regina Cyclone which devastated the city on June 30, 1912.
W. CLARENCE MAHON – was president of the Regina Real Estate Board in 1945 and 1946. He was also the founding president of the Saskatchewan Real Estate Association. He was part of a small group who kept the board alive following the difficult Depression and war years. He was instrumental in lobbying the government to create the first real estate licensing legislation in Saskatchewan, which came into effect in 1953.
FELIX KRAFT – under his leadership as presdent in 1962 and 1963 the Regina Real Estate Board made decisions to create a central staffed office, and to better utilize the MLS® System. These actions were critical in the development of both the MLS® System and the Association.
CAL ABRAHAMSON – was hired as the first executive secretary of the Board in 1962, and was charged with setting up the new office and developing the administration required to support the Association and the MLS® System. His efforts helped to ensure the financial viability of Regina Real Estate Board and led to the operation of the first true MLS® System in Regina.
BRIAN GIBSON – served as president of the Saskatchewan Real Estate Association in 1973 and 1974, and as president of the Association of Regina REALTORS® Inc. in 1978. He was the leading force beind the creation of the Regina Real Estate Review in 1977. The Review is a publication that has served Regina REALTORS® for more than 35 years. It continues to be one of the highest profile real estate advertising media in Regina to date.
